About the Authors
Linda Davis Kyle is a fitness and health and general interest writer whose articles have appeared in local, regional, national, and international publications such as Children's Playmate, Martial Arts Training, Healthy Options, and World Travel Magazine. Her work has been published in Canada, the United States, the Netherlands Antilles, Ireland, England, South Africa, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Qatar, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
She is co-author of The Writer's Friend and the e-book, Writing Tips Galore, and the author of Change Your Life with Martial Arts and Fun Foods for Kids & Grownups. She earned her Master's degree in English from Tennessee Technological University. She not only enjoys instructing informal classes in writing and editing to youngsters and adults alike, but also Kyle holds a TEFL certificate and loves opportunities to teach English as a foreign language in Asia and in Latin America.
Joseph Gregg, co-author of The Writer's Friend and the e-book, Writing Tips Galore, has worked as a contract technical writer, web designer, and software tester. His high-profile clients have included Houghton Mifflin Company, Fidelity Investments, State Street Bank and Trust, State Street Global Advisors, and Aspect Development. Gregg earned a degree in animal science from Cornell University and received a certificate in technical writing from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He is the author of Write Your Way to Riches.
Nancy McAlary, a native of Canada, who received a BA degree from Trent University, is a co-author of The Writer's Friend. Her short fiction has been published in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Fostered by a diploma in horticulture, her passions include growing native plants and encouraging wildlife back into her suburban backyard in Australia where she and her husband, Richard, also own and operate a computer company.
William Meikle from Kinross, Kinrosshire, Scotland, the co-author of "Adventures in Abunda Gardens," the introductory story in Fun Foods for Kids & Grownups, has sold more than 150 short stories predominantly to science fiction and fantasy magazines and e-zines in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Greece, India, Canada, and the United States. Among his books are The Johnson Amulet and Other Scottish Terrors, Island Life, Watchers trilogy: The Coming of the King and The Battle for the Throne, and Eldren: The Book of the Dark. He also is a co-author of Writing Tips Galore: Turn Over a New Leaf for Writing & Marketing Success.
Billie A. Williams, a native of Wisconsin, is a co-author of the e-book, Writing Tips Galore, and the author of the mystery novels, Death by Candlelight , Dancing by Candlelight, Fire at Thunder Ridge, Watch for the Raven, Knapsack Secret, The Pink Lady Slipper and its sequel, Bed and Breakfast Murders, and the action adventure novel, Tung Umolomo, among an array of other books. She also encourages aspirant writers with Writing Wide: Exercises in Creative Writing and Characters in Search of Authors. She is a member of Wisconsin Regional Writers Association (WRWA), National Association of Women Writers (NAWW), Romance Writers of America (RWA), and Sisters in Crime, to name a few. Williams donates a portion of her royalties from each book to local groups and charitable organizations.
About the Editors
Guy Lancaster holds two degrees in English, is a PhD candidate at Arkansas State University in Heritage Studies, and is working on a degree in theology from St. Gregory's University. In addition, he has studied Japanese language and literature at Sophia University in Tokyo. He is a former staff editor for Arkansas Review: A Journal of Delta Studies. Lancaster was the editor of The Writer's Friend and co-editor of Change Your Life with Martial Arts and Fun Foods for Kids & Grownups. He is the author of the novel, Queen of Purgatory, and a freelance correspondent for the Arkansas Catholic, a diocesan newspaper, and a columnist for the Part-Time Heretic.
Mindy Reed is a reference librarian, editor, and indexer with degrees from UT-Austin, SMU, and Kansas State University. Prior to founding The Authors' Assistant she was Director of Procurement for Dell Computer Corporation. She is a member of the Writers' League of Texas, Women in Scholarly Publishing, and The American Association of Indexers.
About the Designer
Ralph Marston of Image Express designed the cover and interior layout of The Writer's Friend. He earned a degree in business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Marston also is the author of the well-known book The Daily Motivator.
